Our investment in staff training and development, in world leading equipment and allowing much longer appointment times differentiates us and has allowed us to become the leading Optometrist in the area.
Private Fees: We now offer Eyeplan – Eyeplan is our Eyecare Loyalty Scheme, designed to provide you with access to the very best of eyecare – at an affordable monthly price. When you sign up to Eyeplan, you pay a small monthly subscription in exchange for examinations, eye scans and emergency eye care, as frequently as you need them. We also provide a loyalty discount on all spectacles purchased and includes Accidental Damage Cover*.

Comprehensive Eye Examination — £119
A thorough eye examination with additional imaging of your eyes.
Our Comprehensive Eye Examination includes an extended assessment of your vision and eye health, together with either an OCT scan or Optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging, selected according to your individual needs.

Advanced Eye Examination — £168
Our more detailed eye-health assessment, combining advanced imaging technologies.
The Advanced Eye Examination combines your comprehensive clinical examination with both OCT and Optomap imaging.
OCT provides highly detailed cross-sectional images of structures including the retina, macula and optic nerve, while Optomap provides an ultra-widefield image covering a much larger area of the retina, including the peripheral retina.
Because the two technologies provide different information, using them together gives your optometrist a more comprehensive picture of your eye health.

HeartEye Advanced Examination — £218
Our most comprehensive eye examination, combining advanced eye imaging with additional cardiovascular risk assessment.
This examination includes everything within our Advanced Eye Examination — including OCT and Optomap imaging— together with our HeartEye assessment.
Specialist analysis of information obtained from retinal imaging can provide additional information relating to cardiovascular risk.
The assessment is designed to complement your normal healthcare and does not replace assessment, diagnosis or treatment by your GP or other medical professional.

Specialist Dry Eye Assessment
A detailed assessment designed to investigate the cause of persistent dry, sore, gritty, burning or watery eyes.
Dry eye can have several different causes, and treatment that works for one person may not be appropriate for another. Our Specialist Dry Eye Assessment goes beyond a routine eye examination to assess your tear film, eyelids, ocular surface and meibomian glands, helping us identify the factors contributing to your symptoms.
Your assessment may include:
• Detailed review of your symptoms, previous treatments, medications and lifestyle factors
• Examination of the eyelids and ocular surface
• Assessment of tear-film quality and stability
• Assessment of the meibomian glands and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD)
• Meibography – specialist imaging of the meibomian glands
• Tear osmolarity measurement where appropriate
• Assessment for inflammation and other contributing factors
• Discussion of your results and likely causes of your symptoms
• A personalised treatment and management plan
Where appropriate, we can then discuss treatments available within our specialist Dry Eye Clinic, including eyelid treatments, IPL/LLLT, Blephex, punctal plugs and other management options.
Ideal if you have: persistent dry, gritty, burning or uncomfortable eyes; excessive watering; fluctuating vision; contact-lens discomfort; or symptoms that haven't improved sufficiently with standard eye drops.

NHS patients at Airedale Opticians.
You are entitled to a basic NHS adult eye tests every two years (every year if under 16 years old) if you fulfil any of the criteria listed on the NHS website.
The NHS eye test covers a very basic eye health and vision check. The majority of our patients recognise our investment over and above the basic NHS test and upgrade to our Advanced Eye Exam allowing us to use the latest scans and spend the time needed with you.
