We have a dedicated Low Vision Aid Service. Our Optician Gill Thorp offers a dedicated low vision appointment.
The aim of the assessment is to ensure that people with visual impairments can maintains much independence as possible and continue doing the things that they enjoy.
The assessment takes approximately 90 minutes, Gill will discuss how vision loss impacts your life and tasks you do day-today, both at home and out of the house. We stock the widest range of the latest magnifiers and non optical aids for you to try in practice. Gill will also discuss the mental health impact of sight loss as well as trying to find solutions for day to day tasks. Gill can also refer you into other support services and support groups.
Eschenbach SmartLux Digital Magnifier
Small and lightweight but very powerful, the SmartLux is a digital magnifier that provides up to 12x magnification, along with contrast enhancing settings to choose the most suitable text and background colour for you.
