What Are NUANCE Audio Glasses?
NUANCE Audio glasses combine the appearance of conventional prescription eyewear with advanced sound-enhancement technology. They look and feel like normal glasses, yet incorporate six discreet microphones and integrated speakers within the frame to improve speech clarity.
Unlike traditional hearing aids, NUANCE glasses use open-ear technology, meaning the ears remain unobstructed. This allows natural environmental sounds to be heard, while selectively enhancing speech — particularly in challenging listening environments.
How the Technology Works
The six microphones are strategically positioned within the frame to prioritise sound coming from in front of you, while reducing competing background noise. This directional sound processing helps make conversations clearer and easier to follow.
Using a straightforward smartphone app, wearers can choose from four tailored hearing programmes, designed to accommodate different patterns of mild to moderate hearing loss — including common age-related changes that affect higher frequencies.
Two listening modes are also available:
Focus Mode – optimised for one-to-one conversations
Awareness Mode – ideal for group settings or situations requiring environmental awareness
